Synopsis

79-year-old Georg Trapp draws his strength from peace and quiet. The retired philosophy professor enjoys being alone with his beloved books and his eccentric moods. However, his self-image begins to waver when he hires Sofia, a housekeeper. The 24-year-old asks questions that make the stoic think. As Georg compiles the invitation list for his 80th birthday, Sofia points out that true friends are missing among the attendees and dignitaries! Encouraged by her, Georg contacts his former best friend. Antiquarian Heinz is not only happy about the surprising reunion, but also encourages Georg to take a romantic risk: Henri, Georg's unrequited love, is a widow and now free for him!
